Shadow work is a depth-psychology process of exploring the parts of yourself that operate outside conscious awareness—repressed emotions, patterns, beliefs, and protective responses. Through this work, you integrate these parts with compassion, reducing internal conflict and increasing self-understanding.

Shadow work brings unconscious patterns into awareness, allowing you to respond with choice rather than habit. This creates space for emotional clarity, healthier relationships, and a more grounded sense of self.

Shadow work focuses on unconscious themes and patterns; trauma work focuses on nervous system healing and processing overwhelming experiences.
Both approaches can be safely integrated in counselling. -
